Be Willing to Share What God is Doing

Hi Friends,

Recently a couple of people pointed out to me that there has not been much activity on the Sharingtheway.com website. I thought it was interesting that they were pointing this out to me. Later on that night and ever since those comments I have been thinking about why they were pointing that out to me. From my perspective the Sharingtheway.com website is about Christians sharing the works that God is having them do on a daily basis with other Christians. It is not about two guys creating a new church or about two guys pushing some new doctrine or dogma. The website is for all of us to share. Why? Because in Matt. 10 Jesus tells us to share those things that He shares with us.

Matthew 10:26 – 28 (KJV) ²⁶Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. ²⁷What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. ²⁸And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Now we can do this in our local meetings or churches, but this is also why we have the website. I look forward to articles written by others. Why? So I can see the glory of God being worked through everyone and can be encouraged, instructed and lifted up by them. Paul instructs this in I Cor. 14:31:

1 Corinthians 14:31 (KJV) ³¹For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 

Paul said clearly in I Cor. 12 that all that have the Holy Spirit have spiritual gifts and that we must utilize them to the edifying of the church:

1 Corinthians 12:4 – 11 (NKJV) ⁴There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.  ⁵There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.  ⁶And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.  ⁷But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: ⁸for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,  ⁹to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by ^£the same Spirit,  ¹⁰to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.  ¹¹But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

This is so critical. We all have the spiritual gifts for the “profit of all”. We need to share those things – the “diversities of activities” – that the Spirit distributes to us. I am more guilty than all in that generally some new spiritual activity happens to me about once per week. I have only shared these things in our local meetings, but do intend to share them more fully in the future on the website as the Spirit moves me to do so.

Note in Romans 8 that we can not call ourselves Christians if we do not have the Spirit of Christ in us:

Romans 8:7 – 9 (KJV) ⁷Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  ⁸So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  ⁹But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Now if the reverse is true and we do call ourselves Christians and the Spirit is in us then we must do as Jesus and Paul says. Jesus said “I am the Way” (John 14:5) and his followers were called those of “the Way” (Acts 9:2). In the coming days I look forward to those things that people of “the Way” have to share on the website. Please tell us what has been happening – those diversities of activities – in your life that God has been working through you.
