Note from the moderator: I have never seen such a powerful testimony of true sacrificial love demonstrated by a human father like this before! It brings to mind the sacrificial love of God that He has for each one of us. As our Heavenly Father, He has clearly demonstrated that He is willing to go to any length “to give us life and to give it to us more abundantly” (John 10:10). “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
I am also reminded by this testimony of Jesus’ sacrificial love for us. Jesus, as our Lord and brother, was willing to go to great lengths to show us how much He loved us. So much so that He willingly gave His life that we might live. For He said, “No man takes my life from Me; I lay it down of Myself.” (John 10:18). And “greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13).
In this inspiring testimony below (click on the link), it is amazing to see to what lengths a father will go in order to serve his beloved son. It also clearly demonstrates how brotherly love can cause a person to go “the extra mile(s)” in order to serve a fellow human being – just like Jesus did for all of us – carrying us on His back!
May we all mature in Christ to love like this!
